Help shape our next Youth Strategy

The City has developed a draft Youth Strategy, Directions from Young People 2027–2030, to guide how we work with and support young people aged 12 to 25.

A Youth Strategy may sound formal, but it is an important plan shaped by the priorities of young people and those who support them.

Once finalised, the Strategy will guide decisions, funding and action across the City - from youth programs and events to community spaces, planning and infrastructure.

You told us. We listened.

During the first stage of engagement, more than 550 young people, parents, carers and community members shared their views.

You told us you wanted more opportunities for young people to have a voice, be involved in decisions and see their ideas lead to action. View Engagement Report and Snapshot.

We listened to your ideas and used them to develop a draft Strategy with four focus area. Each focus area includes actions we plan to deliver over the next four years, along with ways to measure our progress.
Short on time? Explore the tiles below for a quick summary of each focus area and its key actions.

Did we get it right?

We want to know if the draft Strategy reflects what young people told us.

You can read the draft Strategy or jump straight to the feedback form below. Tell us what works, what is missing and what should change.

Feedback closes at midnight on Wednesday, 30 September 2026
