What we will do

  1. Increase the skills and knowledge of people who work with young people, to improve outcomes working with young people. Utilise up-to-date resources such as the Youth Engagement Toolkit and provide training to staff and community groups working with young people.
  2. Provide young people with opportunities to share ideas, develop skills and work with others on topics that are important to them. Host training, workshops and volunteering opportunities focused on collaboration, community contribution, leadership and practical local action.
  3. Support the creation and development of youth-led organisations through grants programs, training and development opportunities. Work with youth-led organisations to deliver projects in the City.
  4. Explore ways to connect young people with the broader City of Melville community through programs and events. Ensure projects are focused on genuine connection, interests, sharing and exchange.
  5. Ensure the City’s community funding opportunities are appropriately promoted to a youth audience and are accessible for young people to apply for.
