Planning for what's next
The City of Melville has adopted the Myaree Business Area Master Plan, setting a long-term vision to guide growth, investment and improvements in the area. The plan aims to support a vibrant, sustainable and competitive business area into the future.
The Myaree Business Area is one of the City’s three major economic centres. As it is not identified as a District Centre under State Planning Policy 4.2, an Activity Centre Plan is not required. This allowed the City to develop a strategic plan focused on local priorities and community aspirations.
About the Master Plan
The Myaree Business Area Master Plan provides a high-level strategic direction for the area. It identifies current challenges and opportunities and sets out a long-term vision to support the area’s growth and ongoing contribution to the community and the City of Melville.
The Master Plan identifies key focus areas, outcomes, actions and recommendations to support the long-term vision for the Myaree Business Area, including:
- Local centres at Hulme Court and Marshall Road
- Public spaces
- Traffic and parking
- Land use
- Connections with surrounding areas
- Infrastructure
- Branding and identity
