Creating exciting play spaces
The playground at Montague Hillary Park is undergoing renewal, with the preferred design selected following community engagement.
To help shape the new playground, the City began the conversation with local experts - Leeming Primary School students - who shared their creative ideas and wishlists through an in-class co-design activity. Their input helped inform four playground design options presented to the community for voting.
The upgrade includes a new nature playspace, additional park seating, and planting to enhance biodiversity.
This project has been made possible with funding from the WA Government.
Opportunities to get involved
Consultation for this project closed Wednesday, 26 November 2025.
Four imaginative playground designs were presented during engagement, each offering a unique mix of play elements, themes and features. From climbing opportunities to creative play spaces, the designs aimed to inspire fun, connection and outdoor activity for children. Community members were able to review the options by scrolling through the designs using the arrow located at the bottom left of the page.
