The City of Melville has developed a draft Local Planning Policy 1.23 (LPP1.23) Requirements for Local Planning Scheme Amendments which sets out clearer and more consistent approach for how proposed Scheme Amendments are prepared, assessed and communicated. It outlines the information applicants must provide, and when preliminary community consultation may occur before a proposal is formally advertised.

From 10 June to 2 July 2026, the community were invited to view the draft policy and provide feedback.

We received 9 submissions from our ratepayers with 67.5% residing within the City.

Next steps

A report will be presented to Council at the 8 September 2026 Ordinary Meeting of Council for consideration of the final adoption of the draft LPP1.23.
