Investing in our community's future
Community grants play an important role in supporting local ideas, groups and initiatives that help bring people together and strengthen our community. The City recognises the value of these local initiatives and supports them through community grants. To ensure grants continue to meet community needs now and into the future, the City is developing a new Community Grants Framework.
We invited the community to provide feedback on the future of community grants, including what is working well, what could be improved, and where gaps or missed opportunities may exist. Consultation closed on Monday, 2 March 2026.
The feedback received through this engagement (which you can read in the engagement snapshot below) has informed the development of a draft grants framework, which was presented to Elected Members during the Elected Members Engagement Session on Tuesday, 28 April 2026.
Based on the feedback received, a new council policy has been developed and is being presented to council at the July 2026 Ordinary Meeting of Council.
