The City of Melville is creating a new Library and Cultural Centre that will become the cultural heart of our future Melville City Centre.

More than just a library, this exciting new destination will bring together learning, creativity, history, arts and community in one welcoming place. Designed for people of all ages, it will provide spaces to read, meet, create, perform, discover local history, enjoy exhibitions, attend events or simply spend time with family and friends.

This once-in-a-generation investment will strengthen community connections, celebrate our unique identity and create a place that belongs to everyone for generations to come.

About the project

The new Library and Cultural Centre will become the City's central library while building on the success of our existing libraries, museums, galleries and community spaces.

The four-level facility will include:

• An expanded and interactive library
• Exhibition and gallery spaces
• The City's municipal museum
• Flexible performance and creative spaces
• Dedicated children's and youth areas
• Community meeting and function rooms
• A café and welcoming public spaces
• A vibrant civic piazza connecting the community

Located next to the Melville Civic Centre, the Library and Cultural Centre will help shape the future Melville City Centre and become a destination where people can connect, learn, create and celebrate together.
