Feedback you provide through surveys, submissions, forums, mapping tools and other engagement activities will be provided to the relevant City officers responsible for the project or subject matter.
Engagement findings may be reported publicly to Council, the community or other stakeholders. Where possible, feedback will be reported in a de-identified or aggregated form. Individual participants will not be identified unless required by law or with their consent.
To help us better understand our community, some engagement activities may include optional demographic questions. Providing this information is voluntary and responses are used for analysis and reporting purposes only.
If you subscribe to project updates, newsletters or engagement opportunities, we will use the contact information you provide to send you information relevant to your interests and subscriptions.
You may unsubscribe from these communications at any time.
Where you register for an event, workshop, reference group, advisory group or expression of interest process, the City may collect additional information to administer the activity, assess applications, communicate with participants and support project delivery.
The City may engage consultants and service providers to assist with engagement activities, analysis and reporting. Where this occurs, access to personal information will be limited to what is necessary to perform the required services and managed in accordance with applicable privacy requirements.
The following Terms and Conditions govern the use of Melville Talks (“the site”). The software platform is owned by Social Pinpoint Pty Ltd and operated by us, the City of Melville.
By accessing and using this site, you are choosing to accept and comply with the Terms presented throughout this agreement as well as the Privacy Policy and Moderation Policy. These Terms apply to all visitors and users of this site. Linked sites, affiliated services or third party content or software have their own Terms that you must comply with. If you disagree with any of the Terms presented in this agreement, you may discontinue using the site immediately.
If you are under 18 years old, please ensure that your parent or guardian understands and accepts these Terms and Conditions (including the Privacy Policy and Moderation Policy).
What are the conditions with a user’s account?
While using the site, you must not violate any applicable laws and regulations. It is our duty to protect the confidentiality of content you provide on our site in accordance with our Privacy Policy. When you create an account with us, you must always provide us with accurate information. Public consultation
Melville Talks is the City of Melville's online community engagement platform.
Participation in consultation activities does not guarantee that a proposal, suggestion, submission or item of feedback will be adopted, implemented or incorporated into a City decision, project, policy, strategy or plan. All feedback received will be considered alongside legislative requirements, strategic priorities, technical assessments, budget constraints and other relevant considerations.
Can your account be suspended or terminated?
We may terminate or suspend access to your site and/or account immediately, without prior notice, including without limitation if you breach the Terms. We may immediately deactivate or delete your account and all the related files and information in your account. After your account has been terminated, the content you have posted may also remain indefinitely on the site.

Recordkeeping and public records
Information submitted through Melville Talks may constitute a public record and may be retained in accordance with the City's recordkeeping obligations, the State Records Act 2000 (WA) and applicable recordkeeping policies.
Content submitted through this site may be retained for administrative, legal, reporting, audit or historical purposes, even where a user account is subsequently deleted.
Freedom of Information
Information submitted through this site may be subject to disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act 1992 (WA) or other applicable legislation.
The City will manage personal information in accordance with its Privacy Policy and relevant legislation. However, information provided to the City may be required to be disclosed where permitted or required by law.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed in accordance with the laws of Western Australia, Australia, without regards to its conflict of law provisions.
Indemnification
The City of Melville, its subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, agents, licensors and other partners are not responsible for any loss, liability, claim, or demand, including legal fees, made by any third party due to or arising from a breach of this agreement and/or any breach of your representations and warranties set forth above.
What content do we own?
This website contains the copyrighted material, trademarks, patents, trade secrets and other proprietary information (“Intellectual Property”) of the City of Melville and its suppliers and licensors. The City of Melville owns and retains all proprietary rights in the intellectual property. All intellectual property in the content of this site including without limitation to text, software, source code, pages, documents and online graphics, photographs, sounds, audio, video and other interactive features are owned by or licensed to us.
Any original content that you submit or post on our site may be made available to the public and allows users to share your content (with the end user acknowledging your contribution) under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 Australian License.
Except for Intellectual Property which is in the public domain or for which you have been given written permission, you may not copy, alter, transmit, sell, distribute any of the Intellectual Property on this site.
